PRESS RELEASE

(Los Angeles) - Creative Photography Workshops presents a group photography exhibition at Edward Cella Art + Architecture. Entitled Multiple Visions, the annual exhibition presents new photographic works by nineteen emerging photographers all based in Los Angeles. This limited engagement showcases the accomplishments and unique evolving artistic visions of a group of photographers who have participated in the classes offered by Creative Photography Workshops over the past year. Organized and curated by the Center’s Director, Tracey Landworth, the exhibition inclusively features work by students ranging from introductory levels, to advanced, and beyond. Deliberately eschewing any stylistic organization or pre-conceived parameters, the exhibition intends to capture the culmination of the artistic investigation each student has undertaken throughout their participation in the workshops. With a display of over one hundred photographs, visitors will see a number of hand printed platinum and silver-gelatin prints in the exhibition, as well as a variety of those made with the latest digital printers and cameras. Each photographer is featured by a selection of representative work that attempts to capture their creative contributions. This will include a variety of genres ranging from still life, portraiture, and documentary subjects.
The photographers included are Wei Ling Chang, Robert Neil Cohen, Kristen Dorota, Roland Dybuncio, Marlo Ehrlich, Matthew Finley, Juan Florentino, Marcella Fodor, Debora Guetta, Bob Harper, Susan Harris, David Meltzer, Joyce Ostin, Beth Rothman, Jill Stein, Laura Wasserman, Linda Wolf, Jan Woods, and Marcia Ziffren.
Unique to this year is a special tribute to long time Creative Photography Workshop instructor and noted Los Angeles photographer Patrick Alt (1950-2013) who recently passed. Born in 1950, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Patrick moved to Southern California in 1970 to attend the California Institute of the Arts where he received a BFA in 1972. He earned an MFA in painting and photography in 1974 from UC Irvine. He went on to work for more than forty years in Southern California professionally as a photographer who specialized in large-format cameras crating detailed platinum prints that were featured in numerous exhibitions.
